About Sarah D. Boucher
Sarah Boucher joined DeSisto Law in October 2020 as a law clerk and became an attorney in January 2021. In her current practice, Sarah focuses on municipal defense, civil rights claims, police misconduct, employment discrimination, land use litigation, and general tort claims. Sarah has worked on all aspects of litigation matters represented by the firm, including defending clients in jury trials and arguing a range of matters, including discovery disputes, dispositive motions, and motions in limine, in both the state and federal courts. Sarah also has experience in conducting independent investigations for private clients and writing investigative reports.
Sarah is skilled in legal research and writing. She has briefed many matters in the Rhode Island Superior Court, the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island, the Supreme Court of Rhode Island, and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. Sarah’s written and oral advocacy has resulted in favorable outcomes for both municipal and private clients.
Sarah has also developed educational and training materials and presented to elected officials, administrators, municipal employees, and law enforcement with a focus on risk management and mitigation.
Sarah graduated from Providence College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Policy and Management. Prior to attending law school, Sarah worked in the healthcare industry for over ten years, holding positions in hospital administration and philanthropy.
While at Roger Williams University School of Law, Sarah participated in the judicial externship program, where she worked for the Honorable Bruce M. Selya in the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. She also interned for the Honorable Lincoln D. Almond, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Courtfor the District of Rhode Island. Sarah served as the Managing Editor of the Roger Williams University Law Review, Volume 25.
